My story...
I've loved photography since I bought my first 35mm SLR camera senior year of high school. College gave me a terrific opportunity to learn the craft photographing campus events, news, people, sports, animals, whatever I could find to show the community in the daily newspaper and yearbooks. I am fortunate to have continued shooting since then, even though my Nikon film cameras haven't!
Making photographs, not taking pictures...
It's easy to snap pictures on your phone - I do, of course - and while sometimes a photo pops up right in front of you, it usually takes digging deeper, looking more closely, to make a memorable image. It's so rewarding to "picture" something in your head, then to be able to create it in your camera.
